Candace, who blogs at Spa Around the World had an article published in CincyChic. In her article she writes about her second blog, Spa 4Diabetes.  Candace’s parents both have type-2 diabetes and she started the blog to help raise awareness of the impact of diabetes. Candace is organizing an event on April 7 at C.O. Bigelow (Kenwood Towne Center) to benefit Spa4Diabetes and the American Diabetes Association. Terri, who blogs at Reflections from Women is hosting a writing contest for women writers and poets for consideration in an upcoming anthology. The top essays and a selection of poetry on the topic will be accepted for publication and will be recognized in the book as being chosen from this competition among other women authors.

The reflections from women writing contest is open to any adult woman writer (previous publications not necessary). The topic of the essay or poem should be related to the focus of the upcoming book and based on a personal life story, turning point, major decision or life changing event. All work must be original, non-fiction and based on the author’s experience. Fiction will not be accepted for this anthology. The deadline for contest submissions is March 31, 2009.
